In short, short haired 21-year old, cute but not sexy or stunning. Meet and talk at party, obviously incredibly shy introvert(much like myself at some point in my life and still at some level). Go to the karaoke one day and she shows up with friends. I sing a couple of songs, and one them she joins in on. And it feels like its going well.

Met again after new years, take a walk together. Start handholding she complies. Walking home, I ask her to come inside and watch something. When we are inside and get cozy, she starts resisting escalation (just trying to put my arm around her). She says she doesnt know what to say. She first leans into me, and she starts crying. She claims that she doesnt know, she likes me but doesnt want to hurt me etc. Claims at one point "likes me, but is not attracted" and that she "usually are better friends with guys". I just keep calm and say its not a big deal. Which it really wasnt. She asks me why "guys and girls cant be friends" and I simply explain "in my experience friendships cannot be built on a guy being rejected by girl".

We continue doing stuff, watching shows etc. And when I pull her into me, she complies. But has a slight reaction.

We talk and continue to watch shows.

She stays for a few more hours, and we sit tightly.

I also notice that she seems to care much about my opinion and views, and will generally alter her views to pull them closer to mine.

Now, what should I make of it ?

Does she really not like me ? Or she is trying to keep escalation in order not to have sex too early ? (Because she has experienced pump and dump many times before or something, just guessing)

I am going focus on my priorities anyway, and will find some other person to fulfill my needs as a man(sexual, emotional etc).
