Based off of someone else's question on eye contact/glancing.

When I look at girls and they catch me glancing I sometimes have a very bad habit of looking away really quick but they still look back at me/come over near to me and I have to talk to them or else it's awkward. What does this mean? I though it was considered "beta" to do that shit (look away)?
