What is your reason to be persistent?

You gotta find your thing, or things. Currently I've got the gym, because I want to have the best human suit possible. I've also got socializing, because I want to make my social instincts/needs happy. Also got an abstract idea of what I want out of my career, which could use refinement but I've got the next year sort of mapped, then a huge gap of x years, and an end goal. I got these because I thought of the end goal, and all necessary steps backwards from that until I arrive at my current self (ex: I wanna deadlift 2x my weight 5 times, well the day before that I will deadlift 1.9x my weight, then 1.85 the day before, etc. until I have a plan from today until where I wanna be)

What do you see yourself investing your time in? What's worthwhile to you not only now but in the long run. 3 months after I started lifting my workout buddy graduated and moved away, and what kept me from quitting was the thought that I would throw away all that hard work in the gym. I had just started seeing results too. So I manned up and kept going.

After you decide on a direction and put the time and effort to build momentum and get the ball rolling it becomes difficult to stop simce all that hard work is for nothing.

As a man your time is precious. Don't do things you won't be consistent about (specifically things that require regular practice like lifting, learning an instrument, reading a book to the end). You can, of course try things out. I'm constantly looking for new experiences, and that's great. But the things that bring value to you will be things you practice and improve on every day over the course of years. You get really good at something if you keep practicing it.

I don't know that you can force yourself to be persistent , for me it's always been an inner hunger , a gnawing need and desire to accomplish or chase a thing . I believe professional athletes , and anybody who is passionate about their field of work feels the same.

I don't think you can throw a dart a a random target , chase it and truly be persistent Because that internal fire / desire that keeps pushing you forward has to outlast how your situation looks and sometimes even common knowledge.

I honestly don't know how you develop a persistent attitude but I know once that fire starts blazing internally it's next to impossible to stop it.

No you shouldn't pick a random target? Da fuck. You should know wtf you want to achieve. Then have long term goals and short term goals. Short term would be getting a decent haircut every two weeks to maintain aesthetics. Long term would be working daily on your company and getting your startup acquired within a three year period. Shit like that.
