Summary: Why is a person who peruses a degree substantially different from a person who applies a degree? ...followed by a bitchfest.
Main: Thanks to the respondents of my previous post. Im still mulling it over.
Something is bothering me more and more as I think about it. The fact that I didn't get a lot of attention from women until I got my degree. And then I got even more attention after I had professional experience. This bothers me... more and more, and more....
My sister and female friends say that female attraction to guys is based on being "mature" or "competent" or "having-your-shit-together, etc. These same friends tell me things like "be yourself" and "there are no right answers." Ugh, vague platitudes....
I am not significantly different NOW. I am fundamentally the same person I was as a junior in college. How can having professional experience change someone so drastically? And what is it that is so influential? What? FUCKING WHAT? ...as if a resume makes a person.... as if the same fortitude that pushed me to a degree is somehow different after I applied that degree. (W. T. F. ?)
This bothers me, in part, because the implication is that I am not worth the time unless I have a nice resume. And all of my female friends say that isn't true somehow and its NOT as superficial as it sounds.
FFS I am getting really pissy here just typing this. Im glad Im alone right now because I am yelling at my computer. Now I forgot where I was going with this... Ok there we go.
I feel like Im chasing a moving target: “Do this and you will succeed” “Oh, you did that... well do this and you will succeed” “Oh you did that too? Hmmm.... well be yourself and there are no right answers.”
fffffFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!1!! “If acting like myself worked I wouldnt be here!! And that implies there IS, in fact, A FUCKING RIGHT ANSWER!!!!
I've seen the stages of TRP acceptance here on Reddit. I have read (or listened to) the ideas behind MGTOW (thanks Sandman). I feel like I have been MGTOW on and off since high school and have been going over the stages of TRP acceptance for about as long. But instead of it being a revelation as it was to many, it was a natural way to deal with life. ...Just disconnect, retreat into my man cave, improve myself.... no luck?... man cave... Wash, rinse, repeat.
Goddamn I feel pathetic.
Anyway, what is the fundamental difference that separates a college junior from a professional? Or if you have any other advice or comments, please speak up.
