Background: Grade 12, 17M, discovered TRP in January. I've made out with a few chicks and have gotten head, but still a virgin. Have a reputation as being super smart, but also very nice from my BP days.
Pretty protective parents so I rarely get to go out to parties and events where I can meet people. I'm a pretty good looking guy, but the chicks at my school are either taken or ugly. Chicks outside my school are the ones I need to target, but I rarely get to meet them because of the restrictions imposed.
Because of that I've only had a few dates since January and so I'm still gathering the experience to fully understand and implement TRP strategy.
The Situation: Went to my first house party in a long while, wasn't really focused on getting laid, just wanted to have a good time.
Everyone drank and was dancing and shit and a hb7 chick from another school I've met before dances near me. We talk for a bit, but she's pretty drunk at that time, while I'm still relatively sober. She I'm cute, but I choose not to make a move because she's really drunk and I'm sober enough to know that it's not a great look for me to hook up with a chick that drunk(plus I thought I could game her sober). At the end of the night she grabs my number and we all leave.
I hit her up and we exchange a few messages so I can build a bit of rapport(we talk about how we met at a prior event). I then setup a day to hang out. After that she messages me first a couple times before the day we chill. I don't like wasting my time texting, but in high school it's socially weird not to. I respond back whenever I feel like it(quite often a long time her last reply).
The day we hang out is where I'm trying to figure out wtf happened. I've fucked up in years past with chicks because I've been too needy and given away validation like candy, so I knew I had to adjust my approach to the date. Because I've been lifting and doing well in other aspects of my life I've also gotten a lot more confident, I truly inherited the "I'm the prize" mentality, and so I didn't really have to fake a cocky attitude.
She picked me up from my house(don't have my own car) and went to grab lunch. During the date, I teased her about something stupid she did while driving. After quickly eating lunch, we walked to a local park and talked about shit for a bit. After a while, I felt tired so I just laid down on the grass and started initiating kino. Kino has always been my weakness(been awkward af), but today I was feeling confident so things went pretty naturally. After a while I was tickling her on the grass and she was dying of laughter. I knew things were going right so I went for the kiss and we made out for a short bit. Once we disengaged, we walked back to her car. She asked me where I wanted to go(didn't have much time left before I had to be home), so I smirked and said something like "backseat looks pretty comfy, how about a tour of that." She said "how about no," and so I just changed the topic and gave her a serious answer for where I wanted to get dropped off. Overall, I had teased her quite a bit during the date and didn't give her any validation/compliments(maybe I went too far with this?)
Three days later I shoot her a message and ask her to hang out at a specific time and place next week. She says she's busy with something and said she'll let me know when she's free. At this point, I know I've probably fucked up, but I just say okay and intend to soft next her.
My best buddy then messages me later that day(he's friends w/ the chick) and straight up tells me that she's not into me anymore. I'm confused as to why and he says that she was complaining that I'm not showing any commitment, that it basically seemed like I didn't give a shit about her. He's really good with girls and he recommended that I try comforting her a bit and acting like I give a shit for a while to balance out everything else that happened. At that point, I had nothing to lose since it already seemed like it was over, so I decided to give it a shot to see what comes out of it for a learning experience.
I message her the next day and eventually the conversation leads to roasting and she mentions how that seems to be all I care about or something. I act confused and she tells me how I was a cocky asshole and she felt like the whole 2 hours was just a roast fest of her and how she felt like shit afterward. She talks about how she heard about how I was such a sweet and nice guy and yet I was nothing like that on the date. She mentioned the backseat comment in particular as something that was stupid.
To be completely honest, I don't think I was as cocky or mean as she described it. I never directly insulted her, but mostly just teased her about stuff(driving skills, nails, etc). Only time off the top of my head where I think I went too far was when I mentioned something and she didn't know what one of the words meant. I laughed and said while smirking "do you seriously not know what that means?"
It's completely plausible that I went too far with the teasing(too many jokes, zero validation), but what's confusing me is why she was receptive to my kiss at the end of the date? If she really thought I was such a dick wouldn't she reject it? Does the fact that she knew my stereotype as a nice and sweet guy before this hurt me? Is me being cocky like that really enough for her to lose interest?
When thinking back I thought maybe she thought I was better looking than I actually am since she was drunk at the party, but she first saw me there while sober and we've met at prior events.
I have no interest in trying to get her back, but I'm curious as to the lesson I should take away from this.
