Prioritize your mental health over all else. Your mental health is the foundation that you build everything else on top of, whether it be friends, career, relationships etc. If it's not stable, you will crash and burn eventually.

Let go of attachments to people, your acquaintances, gf/wife and learn to love yourself unconditionally while putting yourself as your #1 priority. There is a difference between needing people in your life and wanting people in your life. The first tends to come from a place of loneliness, insecurity and emptiness while the second comes from a place of mental fortitude and enlightenment.

Learn. To. Meditate. Dedicate 30 minutes to an hour a day for yourself, this is YOU time. If you want to love yourself and understand the things I'm mentioning above, just make meditation a habit and this knowledge will just come to you naturally. Search mindfullness meditation, we are the awareness behind our thoughts and emotions. It will change your life. My only wish is I had found it before I dealt with all the shit that I did.

(KEEPING IT SHORT)

1) stack more bread each paycheck.

2) not dip into stacked bread.

3) get diet right sooner.

4) lift seriously without off periods.

5) found my "look" sooner.

6) smashed LOTS of bitches I could've.

7) numbers 1 - 7.

35 here. As with the comment above, getting your mind right would be prioritized above all else.

In hindsight, I would’ve taken more calculated risks when I was younger and pursued a career in something I was passionate about instead of trying to climb the ever elongating and convoluted corporate ladder.

I would’ve joined the military when I was 18. I’ve always had good discipline but would consider myself “soft” before the age of 30.

In regards to mental health, I wish I would’ve refrained from using alcohol to combat depression and anxiety. It really only compounded my mental health issues and instead of feeling fear and conquering it, I used the thousand foot crutch. I eventually worked my way through all of this but I probably could’ve saved myself a decade had I not been bingeing.

I would’ve actively pursued specific certifications in areas that interested me instead of meandering around community college with no specific goal.

I would’ve taken time to appreciate the present moment instead of thinking “things will be good when”, “I’ll be happy when”. “When” never comes. Today is what matters.

And of course, I wish I had access to TRP. I could’ve taken the pussy off the pedestal a hell of lot faster.

Lots of people say they have no regrets. I don’t understand these people. I have a ton of regrets however, it does feel good to be ascending the metaphorical mountain now rather than hanging at the bottom with my dick in one hand and a beer in the other.

I’m sure there’s more but this is what I got for now.

I am 30. In my life, I don't think I would change many things, but I'll let you know what I think is important in your 20s. I've also never had to slog through mental issues, so the other replies might be insightful in that regard.

1: Always invest in yourself first. You are the most important person you know. This means education, monetary investments, and the essentials you need to be healthy and successful. Let me tell you, a luxury car or fresh $150 sneakers are not an investment, especially if you can't pay cash for them.

2: Always have near term and long term goals you are working on. Don't be a loser waiting for your life to happen.

3: Always have a good handle on your finances. This means a couple things: become very good at a marketable skill and don't become debt trapped. The latter is far more important. You can make $30k in the west (regionally dependent, big city centers not included) and live pretty well if you aren't paying a financial institution to bend you over.

4: Learn a non-work hobby or two, which you actually love doing. For example, I have a miniature brewery in my garage. Great for inviting friends over grilling and taste testing. I also picked up western country dancing to replace night club nonsense. (Great for meeting women also).

5: Finally, relationships. If you have a good family, ensure that you stay connected. If you have nothing else, you will have them. Also, do your best to maintain at least a couple high quality male friends that likewise have ambitions and goals.

If back to 19 I would workout more and start some small business then. Well tho today that’s what I’m doing but I’m sure I could do better earlier

Have a highly marketable degree to utilize into a career and had an immediate plan for employment as soon as I earned my degree
