We hate this question. Every single one of us. We all scramble to think of “oh shit what do I say that doesn’t make me look bad”.

If you don’t have an answer thought up ahead of time, go ahead and save yourself a world of trouble and do it.

At first I struggled w this and it took time and tinkering. I’ve been using “When I first started working, sometimes I would be too blunt w people. Having had a job since I was 16 though, I have learned when and how I should approach people about certain subjects. Every day there may be an opportunity to hone in on this skill and try to perfect it.”

I feel this has been a very successful phrase to use to answer this question. Many times interviewers will circle back and appreciate my answer.
