Why do my flakiest, least dependable, and most self-centered acquaintances have the most friends?

Perhaps you are confusing cause and effect i.e. they are flaky because they have so many friends i.e. options, and not the other way around.

Maybe you mistake friendships with people who just chat at happy hour. I was at dinner and drinks tonight with about 20 people. -0- I would call a friend though many are pretty cool and fun to hang with.
