Why does everyone hyperbolically dote on Elon Musk (e.g. Calling him an alien/freak, etc.)? Am I missing something about him?

Every industry he launches a venture in, he revolutionizes it in a major way, and through that he actually brings the sci-fi future writers dreamed of into reality. Below are some of the ventures he launched.

Paypal - (Ecommerce) Paypal made online payments super easy and hassle-free. Any stay at home mom could do e-commerce by cut and pasting a snippet on her website.

SpaceX - (Space Travel) re-usable space rockets that cut of launching a rocket from 1 BILLION DOLLARS per launch down to 90 Million per launch

Tesla - (Driving) Made electric cars a better alternative to conventional gas cars at a very competitive price point. Becomes the first large-scale deployment of autonomous driverless cars on the highways which result in far fewer accidents that humans behind the wheel. Even went as far as too release research and patents so that other automakers can jump into the electronic car industry.

Halo effect. Yes he might be the name behind all those brands and ideas and stuff but people forget there are hundreds of minds helping them, developing them, creating them. But they are the hidden geniuses of the brand but you only see and hear Elon Musk this Elon Musk that. Thus, it creates a Halo Effect and people believe he is this alien like smartass who does everything on his own without a struggle.

Idk why do you even care, as long as you don't have to work with him you shouldn't, just acknowledge that he exists and try to better your life.
