I know the feeling man. 10 years older than you and it hasn't changed much for women. A) It gives her validation, "This guy still texts me even though I'm in a relationship te-he-he I'm so cute." B) It's her backup plan "This guy could make a decent provider if things don't work out with Beta Bob, better keep him on the hook." She is interested in your well being in the fact that it meets her needs for A and B, that's it. If you said you had cancer and your dog died she'd be gone.
