Lack of true confidence, theres the surface level of confidence where you have your life in order, then there is the deeper level of confidence that stems from loving yourself and knowing who you are

I play this game where I attempt to make eye contact with EVERYONE whenever I am walking around, the first person to look away loses, i win every time ;)

One time i stared down this girl and she just would not look away, i bursted out laughing and she gave me a smirk, we then passed by each other and that was that, in hindsight I probably shoulda approached and ask for number but I was extremely bp back then, so meh

Practice staring at people on the train or bus. You have to build the confidence. You're a black teenager so you automatically have an advantage when it comes to intimidation. When people see you, they think "criminal" "drug dealer" "goon". You have that advantage, use it in your favor. Another thing you could do is head to your local zoo and have a staredown contest with the most dangerous animal they have there.
