In past, as long as there was an enemy, men used to train physically, mentally and emotionally. They had to be ready for fight.

Rome, Ottoman Empire and others started to fall down as soon as they beat their biggest enemies. They did not have an opponent aka reason anymore. They got comfortable and comfort led them to their death.

Today we have no enemy. We have no apparent reason to stay sharp physically, mentally and emotionally.

In past men used to motivate each other and women supported them to be sharp. They had to have a community. Today, we do not have that either.

How can an average man find a reason to keep himself sharp? He needs a mission? How can he find a mission? I do not understand missions. At best it would be a hobby. Why would anything have enough importance to be a mission? Staying sharp physically, mentally and emotionally is very hard. It requires an important reason.
