So I figured since relationship advice on here is pretty good, maybe work advice will be good too.

Long story short, I made a mistake at work (forgot to verify something important) and I am in hot water over it. Manager gave me a pretty big "slap on the wrist" for it but it doesn't sound like I'll get fired for it. However he also handled something incorrectly and I think he should be called out on it. Is it a good idea to call him out on it, or will it not do me any good? A part of me wants to stick up for myself, but he might just get butthurt and not help me with any promotions in the future...
