Did she actually try to engage with you after making eye contact? If you are speaking it's only natural for literally anyone to look at you, eye contact from anyone should be the norm. Just because someone looked at you doesn't mean they are interested.

She is playing hard to get.
My new strategy is that act like you fell in love to her(just act, not really fall in love) and get whatever that you want from her.
It works on girls that play hard to get but you need some experience to make your acting perfect :)

By making mistakes :)
Girls generally warn you with things like"how can this happen? :)" et cetera.
Even the best actors can make mistakes so learn from them and get better in acting.
If you don't act but really fall in love, you will lose the girl and that's why "bad boys" get the girls.
They just act until they get what they want and girls complain like "he played with my feelings, all men are the same".
