I've known and been practicing the inner game for years now. The mantra is to better yourself, focus on your career, hobbies or other things that boost your confidence in yourself and above all make you feel content and driven towards a greater goal than yourself.
So these past years I always thought that I was doing this right, but I actually wasn't. I wasn't prioritizing it. If, for a example, a girl I was interested in was available at any time, I would prioritize seeing her, forgetting altogether about the stuff I was supposed to be focused on.
To be more clear: now I want to dedicate my mornings to screenwriting and going to the gym 3 times a week. But with my previous mindset, I would meet a girl if she were available one morning. But now I have to learn to say no, because even if my mornings are "free", I must prioritize myself, my goals and the stuff that I know will help me in many areas of my life above a girl.
I don't know if any of this makes sense at all (English is my third language), but I hope any of you finds something useful out of this rambling!
