How about you talk to her in person so you wouldn't even have to ask this question it's always better to create a relationship with someone before just messaging them in Facebook especially if they see you in person the will immediately be put off of you try online first

It’s best to talk to her in person ALWAYS. Especially if she’s older, women prefer directness but I’d caution you because you work with her to find someone else office romances usually don’t end well.
