Just read an interesting article from r/Foodforthought, and I couldn't help but notice how the findings might apply in the field.

The important takeaway from the article is that alcohol is not, in fact, a disinhibitor, but a myopia, or an agent that limits decision making processes to what is available in the immediate environment. In other words, it is an agent of social proof.

It's probably no secret that a girl that's been drinking at a bar will typically be more receptive to your advances--because the environment typically reinforces the flirtatiousness between men and women. However, if the environment does not reinforce this, alcohol can be counterproductive.

There is a way to help reinforce receptiveness, however. In the article, Gladwell mentions a study that showed drunk people can be less likely to have unprotected sex under a special circumstance. Normally, the drunk people said they would be more likely to have unprotected sex if they brought someone home and forgot a condom than the sober people would. But then the researchers stamped the message "AIDS Kills" onto the hands of the subjects, and the drunk people were then less likely to have unprotected sex, because the environment informed their decision-making more than the sober people.

This means that if you try and slip tidbits into conversation that act like the AIDS stamp, you can affect the decision making of the drunk more than the sober. (You could try mentioning some benefits of kissing--listed at the bottom--or something else. You're creative people.)

The general consensus on seddit is that the PUA should not need to rely on alcohol in order to pick up women. I am not trying to dispute this assertion. However, while the intent is not to get drunk in pickup, people usually do drink at bars, so using this process on yourself can also augment your success (plus, you're encouraging her to drink). For example, if you are suffering from AA, put a rubber band around your wrist. This rubber band is on your wrist to remind you that you have an obligation to go and speak to every woman you find attractive. When having a drink or two, this rubber band's effect will be slightly increased.
