Backstory: Today I was in a new and weird situation. I was siting outside a café in the sun enjoying a coffee while waiting for my hair dresser appointment. When the people to my immediate left stood up and left, a beautiful woman (aprox. 5-10 years older than me) and her kid (age 10-12) sat down next to me. While browsing my phone, I noticed that she was gorgeous and that she and her kid didn't talk much.
As 10-15 seagulls almost attacked one of the other patrons over a croissant, I exploited the situation to chat to her. I laughed and said something like "the seagulls in this city are batshit crazy". The following conversation was very light in subject matter - we mostly talked about seagulls/birds, the summer weather and exchanged some funny stories. I had no problem talking with this woman, but I was a bit uneasy during the convo as I was unsure where to led the conversation, as she was with her kid. Because of this, there were a couple of long pauses in our convo.
I ensured to involve him in the conversation, which proved to work, because when his mother went to the toilet, he kept talking to me on his own initiative. I believe this is a good thing for my impression, regardless of my intentions for her (sex vs relationship).
Nevertheless, because of this weird dynamic, I never asked for her number/snapchat/whatever. I just couldn't come up with a good or natural way of doing this in front of her son, and I really didn't want to make things weird for them. In the end, I had to leave for my appointment, so I just told them to "enjoy the madness", the laughed and we said good bye.
I admit that her age might have been a contributing factor, even though I have seduced several older women in the past.
TLDR; Tips for approaching women with kids in public, how to flirt with them/how to "game" them in these situations, how to get their number
