Seddit, I had an interesting night last night, a lot of fun but it left me with some questions. I went out with some friends one of whom was a friend of a friend, just met him and he was incredibly nice. He had never met some of the girls we were with so he was obviously asking questions and talking to them, but as he kept asking questions, it seemed like they were getting tired of answering them or he would cut them off and ask another. He was asking good questions but every time someone said something or brought up something else he would find a way to get in. Now I'm not jealous that he's talking to my friends, just annoyed because the conversation isn't flowing well and it's awkward. Fast Forward to the bars.
We run into a Bachelorette party start meeting some new girls and this guy does it again. I just shut up drink, laugh and talk when I need too, eventually he goes away and I'm able to isolate one of them and start talking.
So here's my dilemma, the more I think about it, the more I feel like I do some of the same things this other guy was doing. I ask a lot of questions when I first meet people, a.) I'm curious b.) I think it makes them more comfortable to talk about something they know which in turn makes you more comfortable to be around c.) you'll probably have something in common which gives you more to talk about.
However, this guy seemed to take it overboard, and now I'm starting to think I do too. He was nice but I felt like there were to many questions and he kept bringing everything back to him, it got tiring for everyone.
TL;DR When do you know when to stop? I can tell when the girl I'm talking to starts to get bored or uninterested, but sometimes I have no idea what the "crowd" is thinking
there doesn't seem to be anything here
