Friday evening I was in the library studying in our college’s fairly vacant library. A girl walks in and we briefly look at each other then she sits at the table right by me. We make eye contact a couple more times throughout the time I’m there

She was super cute, and I recently got the courage to let go of an ex that was using me as an emotional crutch, so I thought trying to talk to this girl may be a good way to lift my mood (I have barely ever tried asking girls out in a non bar/party setting)

Except there’s 2 others sitting near us and I get nervous to have a conversation with her in front of them in case she’s uncomfortable (probably overthought this) so instead... I write a note saying I thought she was cute and that I’d like to take her to get coffee sometime if she’s interested, then put my number on there

As I leave I walk up to her, she looks up and gives me a big smile and I smile and go “I think you dropped this” then place the note next to her and walk of

She never ended up texting me, but I’m happy I pushed myself out of my comfort zone a bit (even if this was on a middle school level of pick up haha) and will hopefully push me to be more bold in the future

Any input where I could have done this differently or more effectively?
