Meditating is great. Highly, highly recommend. Mindfulness in Plain English is a free pdf. I have been meditating for about a year and am taking a class about Buddhism this semester.
One way to meditate is to simply sit down (set a timer for a short period of time when first starting, perhaps five minutes). So sit down and simply let any thought come to you without repressing, or grasping onto any of the thoughts. Observe your thought process about specific thoughts and how we judge some thoughts as 'good' and others as 'bad'. Try to drop these labels and simply observe.
Another way to meditate is to focus on your breath. When you breathe inf focus on the sensation and when you breathe out do the same. Your mind will wonder and that is completely normal.. simply bring it back to your breathing. Forming a meditation habit may seem a bit dull a first, but stick with it and you will be glad that you did. I find even find meditation fun now
