Plato understood sex and reproduction to be the least gratifying/pleasurable act of beauty a human can experience. For Plato, it's what we create, especially in regards to our legacy, that is most important and beautiful.
In other words, he's saying, if one is competent enough, don't waste beauty by chasing tail.

There's nothing wrong with an honest compliment. As long as OP isn't one of those guys constantly complimenting and satisfying her attention hunger it's cool. I randomly compliment people, especially if I notice something small about them and like it.just don't over do it
