Sounds good, but by ground zero I mean life outside of women. Say things aren’t right all around, what is the first step (action wise)?

Oh my bad. What I have done is work on myself and I started with my body. Started working out. Everyday 2 hours a day. Then added reading for 1 hour a day. Then being there for those who are there for me friends and family. Women come last in my life. Keep it simple start with your body a healthy body leads to confidence strength and motivation. Then pick up a hobby, I like reading but you may like other things. And then be a man and be there for those who have been there for you. Your parents if you have them, help them out. Your friends who have been there for you. Help them out too. Show love to those who are there now. Women come and go, don’t waste your time on them. Invest it on yourself and then they will come to you. This is harder than is seems and requires discipline. But this is true self love and respect. If you accomplish this you’ll be a man who could care less if a bitch stays or leaves and that is the ultimate game.

Start learning and then begin practicing being sociable on your family, closest friends, roommates, classmates, co-workers etc.
It's the only reasonable place to start. Very soon you will find that you can also be a fun guy with women you meet.

1) Lift
2) Get some cool creative hobbies
3) Get a good group of friends, including some girl friends you aren't trying to fuck
4) Read some interesting books and start building an intellectual edifice
5) Establish some routine in your life.

Ground Zero? Have you actually been there?
I'm pretty close to ground zero right now, actually.
But, because I'm a REAL MAN (tm) I am going to own that shit, admit that my own choices put me here, and push up off the ground with every last fucking drop of strength I have left. Because if I don't, I'm going to die.
And when you're THAT STRONG - to pick yourself up out of the deepest darkest mudhole you can imagine, well.... then anything is possible.
After that, talking to a girl is a fucking cake walk.

With no animosity whatsoever... what do you think is causing it? Fear of failure? Fear of success? Laziness? Self sabotage? Lack of motivation? Do you have any insight as to what is keeping you in a rut (I'm in a rut too, so I ask out of empathy here.)
