It is always better if you just go approach her in person then if you message her on facebook. It makes you look more confident if you just cold approach. If you ever see her alone I would advise you to just cold approach and " tell her i find her attractive and would like her number? " You could always do that but if you do not feel comfortable doing that you can always try and be indirect. Since you guys are from the same country that is already a conversation starter and something you have in common. You could ask her where she is from in country X? Or you could just tell her you have never formally introduced yourself and you guys area from the same country. Then after having casual conversation you could ask for her number and say you guys should hang out sometimes.

And ask her where she’s from (which u already know but will help with conversation.) tell her that your from the same place ask her her name don’t be a loser and say you look very attractive. Say you seem like a very chill person do you have a Instagram get her Instagram and text her tell her you found her attractive when u text her. And when you see her again it will be to take her out
