It can be a "signature" if you have a certain cologne that you LOVE. Otherwise, its just something to enhance what might already be appealing about you. Some colognes get dated quickly while others stand the test of time.

Ive found you never want to be able to smell someone more than 3 feet/1 meter away from you. Your "scent" should be an up close and personal thing (yes, you too ladies). So high quality (not necessarily very expensive) and 1 or 2 sprays max should be your goal. You want it to last 3-4 hours at least but be subtle.

I have 30+ bottles of cologne. Its more of a collection now than anything. But I rarely ever leave the house without something on. I wear what "I" like and I usually wear it a few days or weeks at a time. Then when mood strikes, I'll switch it up.

I have a few classics like Azzaro, Givenchy, Obsession, Drakkar, Armani Gio, original Polo (green bottle). There was a time in the 90s that one called JOOP drove every woman I knew crazy. Most cant stand it now. But I still have a bottle. The women in my office like the Versace Eros the best right now. My girl cant stand it. Who knows what the trends will be in a few years. If you like wearing cologne, wear it. Just be subtle, never mix, stay away from deodorants with strong scents, and keep in mind that there are some women who don't like men who wear cologne at all. They prefer a natural smell, so bathe often regardless.
