As the title states, I'm curious what your approach is to complimenting a girl during foreplay/intercourse.

The rule of thumb during courtship seems to be that you should refrain from giving physical compliments to girls (esp attractive ones) as that's unappealing for reasons we're all aware of , however once in the bedroom many recommend showering a girl with physical compliments as this will cause her to feel more desired, and help her alleviate body insecurities, relaxed, and assist her in reaching an orgasmic state.

Do you believe this could kill some of the allure that you've been building in the lead up?

Or does that act of intimacy change the game enough that you can start dropping (genuine) compliments more freely afterwards?
