Hey seddit, I am in the midst of a battle with my approach anxiety. I am a completely sociable person when i have liquor in my system and it doesn't take much effort to go up to girls and make conversations when I'm drunk. However, its a completely different story when I'm sober. Since i am a university student living in a university town, I have been trying to make a constant effort to make conversations with strangers at school and in class. Today, I sat beside my good friend (who's a girl) during an economics class, and noticed a [HB8] sitting on the other side of her. I whispered into my friends ear, "the girl beside you is a cutie!" My friend looks at me, pauses, and than whipped out her. She started writing down a phone number in her note book...MY phone number on the notebook, and my name with a nice little message that wrote, "Your cute, text me :)" She rips the message out of her book discretely and gives it to me and tells me to give it to her at the end of class! and to make sure I put on a nice smile when i give the note to her. I can't believe her... we have 40 minutes left in class. 40 fucking minutes to give excuses to myself to NOT do it. because that would be creepy, really cheesy, and make her look at me funny, get rejected............etc. Believe me, there was a weird storm going on in my head, but it all cleared out after I came to a sudden realization. What kind of women would NOT be happy after receiving a nice compliment like that? So i said fuck it. When the class was over, i tapped [HB8's] shoulder, gave her a great smile, and gave her the note. I felt awkward after giving her the note, so i returned to packing my stuff and looked over to her as she was opening the note, and saw her having a super SEXY grin on her face.
I didn't get a text back, but hey, i feel awesome right now.
