Fellas,
Last time you heard from me, I was trying to get a handle on breaking through my fat guy ForeverAlone feedback loop.
Mission (Somewhat) Accomplished, but now I'm back and confused as hell about something. Fortunately it involves an HB and not just my own existential crises.
How do you handle things when a girl acts really poorly - like a grown-up version of a toddler throwing a temper tantrum? Specifically, when their behavior warrants a response beyond serious and specific rather than flirty and "don't give a fuck Alpha."
I hooked up with this girl about three months ago, and we've been dating casually since. A bro friend made plans for an Ugly Sweater bowling night, and I invited her. Bowling didn't end up happening (long story), and the group ended up rendezvousing at a sports bar.
That's where things went south. She and her roomate drove together from their exurb 20 minutes outside of town to get here. I see her car pull in the parking lot, expect to see them walk in, and all of us proceed to have a good night.
Except that doesn't happen, and I embroiled in the following series of texts:
Her, 8:38: "Hey, so we are dressed like christmas elves, and were anticipating others dressed the same and also bowling. we are going home. we'll catch you next time."
Me, 8:39: "Seriously?" "You're not even going to come in and say hello?"
Last time we were going to see each other for two weeks.
Her, 8:40: "Yep." "We are dressed like elves, fucker."
Well, color me surprised. First time I think I've ever heard her say or write that.
Me, 8:41: "Glad to know you didn't even want to see me, but whatever."
YES, I KNOW: SO BETA AND AFC AND EVERY OTHER PANSY-ASS ACRONYM AND TERM YOU CAN THINK OF. But, suffice it to say, I felt full-on insulted at this point.
Her, 8:44: "We are dressed like elves. you told us to dress up, but then you didn't. believe it or not, my actions have nothing to do with you."
Apparently they got so close to look into the windows to see me and the gang.
At this point I sincerely wonder if her nutso (seriously. issues gallore) roommate had gotten a hold of her phone, because this whole exchange is way, way out of character for this girl.
Me, 8:47: "Am I texting with {Roomate}?"
Her, 8:50: "Why would you assume that? Because I'm actually standing up to your passive-agressive guilt trip?"
At this point, my jaw is so far on the floor it's burrowing to China. I am shocked, and so I just stop texting.
That was almost 24 hours ago. I haven't texted/called her and have heard nary a peep on her end.
I need to put my foot down, but don't want to come across as some insecure, overreacting bum (I've had a problem with that in my Foreveralone past; don't want to repeat it).
Seriously, guys. I'm shocked here. How do I handle this and represent myself well?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
