The moment is LOOOONG passed.
When you get a number, start that text immediately. She has no idea who it's coming from, and girls do not program your name in until they think you're going to be in their life. I guarantee she's got 20 text conversations in her phone right now with numbers that don't have names, and she scrolls up to remind herself who she's talking to.
Ever notice when you're texting with a new girl, they periodically use your name in a response? Is because they see you as potential and they're giving you a chance by making it the scroll up take less effort to reveal a name. Yep, that's the secret nobody seems to understand, and the "dating coaches" aren't bright enough to tell you.
Anyway, the point is, you had some vibe at the moment when she gave you the number, but that vibe was small, and won't last forever. Like putting a pan on the stove, it warms up but when you take it off it already starts losing heat. You can leave it on too long and burn your food, and you can leave it off too long and make a mess... but you've got to put the eggs in when the temperature is right, and control the heat until they're cooked.
This one's gone. If you text her now you're just some stranger and she won't even remember who you are or why she gave you the number. In the future, don't even wait until the end of the night. Get that conversation started right away, so that she's got something to look back at when you reach out again the next day.

You're making a false comparison. Women obsess over their crush -- someone they're already deeply obsessed with -- calling or not calling. They do not do it for some rando they just met in the club.
