Honestly, the most attractive thing a girl can do to get my attention is make the first move. This doesn’t apply to ALL guys, but it could really make a difference because he could be scared to make the first move.

What do you mean he should be putting in more work to get to know you?
Maybe you should put in the work to get to know him. Sounds like it’s you who wants him not him who wants you. Why should he be making the moves?
Removing him from your story to get him to ask you about your life is ridiculous and won’t work. If he actually cared he would ask. If you want to spark something it looks like you’ll have to make the first move.
Did you ever consider the fact maybe he just doesn’t like you? Main character syndrome much?

Yeah I don’t know if he likes me or not, I assumed he did cause he always flirts back, sometimes initiates and his best friend said he has a crush on me. But who knows! I would just like him to feel like he doesn’t quite know what I’m up to to pique his interest I guess

I think you should make the first move! Maybe he is shy or nervous. You sound young so maybe he just hasn’t the experience yet!
