an update:

went on a date with one of the "work" girls
am still talking with the "a friend had corona" girl -- a date here is feasible
the other "work" girl, who went on vacation after cancelling, I'm not really that interested in so haven't reached out again

from this new info I guess I had bad luck the first round.

Have you met any of them in person before? Did they show signs of remorse? Did they reschedule?

It is not uncommon for girls to be flaky, especially when you've never met before. But it's also a sign of not enough interest. I wouldn't let it bother you, but also wouldn't be too hot with them in the future either. If they do come back, you can casually/playfully point out that they cancelled at the last minute last time.

They are certainly all lies. Do not take it personally. Women are socialized to always be people pleasers so they will do stuff like flake or make up shit just to let you down easy.

The big question is what is wrong with how you interact with them that it is causing them to not be all gay interested.
