You're depressed and need professional therapy. Not a girlfriend. You should make considerable efforts to improve your mental health before you even begin to consider adding a girlfriend to your life. Girlfriend's don't solve depression..they don't solve your broken mindsets. Your happiness is your responsibility. Plus, why in the world would a girl ever want to date a dude who is suffering so much with depression? The only thing that will happen is you will make the other person depressed as well. You have a toxic mindset and that will rub off on your partner. You won't solve your depression. You would be making a girl depressed. Get therapy. Fight to improve your mental health in any way you can. Getting a girlfriend shouldn't be your focus right now. Mental health is more important than sex. More important than a girlfriend. Make sure you get your priorities straight. The only depressed people who should consider dating are those who are permanently and unfixably depressed for biological reasons, such as having MS for example.

Not the answer you wanted it's the answer you need. Because they are completely right, even if a girlfriend does make you happy it will create a huge amount of dependancy and then you're back to square one when your mental health problems will eventually push her away.

The solution is to keep working, save money, get therapy, improve yourself, gain progress and results in life. Be so busy that you don’t have time to be lonely. A girlfriend is supposed to compliment your life not define it.

You're absolutely welcome to go try find a girlfriend if you want BUT unless/until you can be happy on your own you will never have a healthy long term relationship, as how are you going to help someone else be happy if you can't even be happy yourself.
