Naa, you gotta practice, start small, when you got close to a woman just say hi, then when you feel confident enough, start making small talk, and then when you feel confident enough, start asking for numbers (even if you're not planning on texting them) and just like that, it's a process to become confident.
Also, one thing that can help your self confidence is your body language, you should be walking with good posture, look people in their eyes, and don't be afraid of people.

Thanks I'll start working on it.

For some it's natural but most people her it's not and you have to train it. It's the reason this sub exists. You're lucky you're still only 17. I'd say dont go talk to a girl with intention of getting their number, but ask like where they got their top from for example. Or ask for directions

Thanks for the advice

Just be direct, tell her you think she's cute and you had to talk to her. If you don't really care where she got her top, which I'd presume you don't and you don't need directions, then I think you just come off as disingenuous. If, on the other hand, you think she's cute, and you tell her she's cute then she knows your chatting her up so she can either go with it or say something like sorry not interested, better for both parties.

Where would you recommend going to approach women, since most people at things like local parks are busy running or working out e.t.c.
[–]SuperFuzz666 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Parks are good, lots of people are just chilling out at the park, even if on headphones or reading, it's something a girl will be happy to stop doing to chat to a cool guy. Shopping malls, the street, pretty much anywhere is good really. If she is walking somewhere you can walk with her. Obviously is she is running or working out then I wouldn't approach then but most of the time no one is doing something so urgent or important that they can't stop for 5 minutes. If she is too busy, she will likely just say sorry I'm really busy right now.

That sounds like a boring question. Why would I ask where she got her top from? I'm not going to wear one, I'm not going to get one for my mother lol... intelligent women pick up on wether your actually interested in it or not. Dont lie about what's interesting, unless of course you are actually interested in where the top came from, then maybe you can start a Convo from that and clothes, fashion etc

You don't need to wait to do anything. Do what feels right. Only thing you don't want to do is be an asshole. No one likes an asshole. You don't always need to maintain eye contact either....as long as you can lock eyes and hold it confidently your ok. It's just that when your looking directly at somebody it tells that person subconsciously that YOU are engaged in them. Don't be scurred let her see those purty blues.

Just go up to her and say hi - introduce yourself - make small talk - touch a little ( shoulder / arm) no too much - chilll and be cool - ask to exchange numbers and don't be pushy if she hesitates, suggest to give her your number and she can reach out if she wants to. Don't think much of it, she is just another person and let me tell you, most women are nervous more than men because they don't have to go through these things...

Realize we've all been there. The first thing you should know is you'll get one of two answers. Be good with either. Somethings are not meant to be. Walk up and tell her youd like to take her to ...... It's no sin to be shy about it. Start slow, remember nice beats bold. Treat her like shes a gift.
Lol.....but you don't know her...don't put her on a pedestal. Be nice, but not too nice. Otherwise your friend zoned or put in the "kind of creepy" category.

At 17 we feel so insecure about everything. A lot of stuff is still so new to us at 17 so everything feels intimidating. When I was 17 I felt insecure when guys would hit on me. Especially overtly confident ones. I didn’t match that confidence so I felt even more insecure about it. But I felt less anxiety and awkward in low pressure situations; when I didn’t feel like someone was actively hitting on me but more interested in just hanging out in the moment. So maybe you can think of it that way too. Maybe it’s less stressful to just connect with someone as a person first and let the scenario end with you asking for a number or asking to hang out another time. To be specific, for me at 17 that was maybe having a cigarette with someone outside (ew) and just chatting, asking for someone to be my partner game, inviting someone to hang out after school with other friends. Any shared experience is enough to open that door. As a girl, I was much less inclined to interact w someone who hit on me at first interaction as opposed to someone asking for my number after we had been friendly for a little while. What do 17 year olds do now? When you picture approaching a girl where would this take place? At school? Parties? Or just anywhere you see someone in public you want to approach?

Well since covid is lifting bit by bit you'll be allowed to go to social gatherings. Once you do, just walk up to a lady and say hi, ask if shes enjoying whatever event you're at. Keep it simple, every interaction with a women doesn't have to end with you going home together

Break the ice and build your confidence by asking people for information. It will lower the other person’s guard and most people like helping and giving advice. You can then transition to saying something you notice about them.
Here’s a list of openers, these are just examples. Use one or more or come up with your own. The key is to genuinely ask something you are curious about “where did you get those shoes from, they look really cool? How do you like them?” Basically be extremely curious about things that other people are holding, wearing, looking at. Basically ask for information or advice constantly from people. As long as you say “hey excuse me. I have a question real quick” and then give a very brief reason why you are asking the question …most people will engage in a conversation. Just practice keeping the conversation alive.
“Hey, excuse me …do you know of a good restaurant around here? I’m new to the area.”
Notice something about what the person is wearing, like if a girl is wearing an iWatch you can say “Hey, excuse me …I have a question for you real quick, I noticed you’re wearing an iwatch, been thinking of getting one …how do you like it?” Let her answer fully. When shes done talking ask one or two other questions about the watch (what model iwatch is it?)
If you’re in the grocery store and you notice a girl looking at cereal, pick up a box of cereal and walk up to her and say “do you know if this cereal is any good? I’ve never tried it before” …again keep the conversation alive by asking her what her favorite cereal is. You can then go into a mini-story about your favorite cereal and explain why you like it, then ask her why she likes hers.
At some point transition the conversation into something more personal by introducing yourself and then follow up with questions about her: “By the way my name is _______” shake hands and say something like: “Did you grow up in [name of city you are in]?” Try to keep the conversation going by alternating between asking questions, listening to her answer, commenting on what she said, and then asking another question. Don’t just ask one question after another. It’s okay to ask a few questions back to back, but at some point you need to make comments or statements about what she said or about yourself.
Close (again this is just an example of how to soft close)
Say, “what’s your favorite dessert?” Based on her answer say something like, “I know a place that sells really good [name of dessert] …we should grab it sometime, do you text? “ she will say yes, then pull out your phone and simultaneously say “cool, well put in your number and we’ll grab it together” as she’s entering it say “what’s your schedule usually like?” Figure out when the best day and time is to meet.
At this point just text normally with her back and forth. Don’t try to be clever or game-y. Pretend you’re texting your best friend. Then confirm the day and time to meet the day before or a few hours before.
