I wrote this up a while back because I used to think flaking was a really big deal, and gradually I realized that a bit of flakiness is just par for the course when you're meeting new women. Hopefully this will save you guys some time and energy.

How many times will you tolerate a girl flaking? First time I'd wait a while, then try to set something up, but after two? I'd probably give up.

I always abide by the three strikes rule. It works in baseball :)

After the second flake I start to seriously drop the level of investment. So, after the first flake I'll often try to organize something cool again (but not the same as the first proposed date, she missed that boat). If she flakes twice, I might still try to get her out, but it's much more likely to be a super low investment date. So I'll text her and say "hey, want to come to (my neighborhood) and grab a drink?", but that's about it.
It also depends on how good her excuses are. If she's working full time and doing school at the same time, or has some high-pressure job, I'll be much more understanding than if she just has a 9-5 and is disorganized.
However, if I like a girl, and she's worth my time and still seems interested in me and is replying to my texts, I'll keep bugging her for a while. Some of the most beautiful/cool women I've dated took more than 3 tries to get out.

I do like this article in the sense, it puts into perspective how "the other side" thinks. Granted these arent all the reasons, but it does cover over 80% of the reasons why a girl would flake on a first date. I know (because I did this myself at one point) that I've freaked out a bit because of the flake. Turn the "negative" into a positive. You can "punish" her on the next date.
