Its possible the interaction was not as compelling to her as you might think. I've seen women jump over much bigger hurdles than age for a guy who was interesting enough.

Next time if you think an age gap will be an issue try to make light of it in the conversation somehow. Reassure her that you know she's older and that you don't even care.

Try texting something along the lines of what you do in rejections on a cold approach, say something like "pffft your loss ;)", just an example but showing you dont care has gotten a girls too come crawling back in my experience.
