Haha good first step man. I remember my first approaches and how much my heart raced. One girl was so hot that I couldn't even talk.
Now I talk to every cute girl I see and it feels great. It's just about small steps to get to the big goals. Great first step.
One tip I've always taken is think of a compliment for everyone you see. Not only do you think more positive thoughts, people think of you more positively when you compliment them.(not just women)

Well you should push the interaction until it is fully over. By ejecting after a compliment the interaction is not fully completed. When approaching your first goal is to build rapport by that I mean breaking the ice between you two and chatting for like 4 or 10 minutes. Then you ask for her number, text, set up date, have sex or smth. The thing is you always keep going forward, you shouldn't leave the job at half.

Not OP but how do you push the interaction past the comment? I can do the initial approach but I usually eject pretty quick also. What else do you say

Well don't expect to ask magical questions here, we are not playing sims to ask someone something and improve our relationship. IT is not about what you ask it is how you handle the conversation, the best thing to do is doing it more often. IF you know you will have shitty conversation let it happen. APproach and have shitty conversation, that's it. T
