As an aside I had a girl I didn't even match with me, respond to my DM, plus another girl following me back and I have no idea what to say.

I’ve had 2 girlfriends that I ended up initiating contact with over social media/dating apps. I had a solid opener with the first one and then found myself with her for over 3 years. My most recent ex and I met on OKC. She had a list of concerts that she’s been to so I messaged her about one that just happened at the time. We never matched and she took like 2 weeks to respond. But as soon as she did I switched it to text and made a date as soon as possible.
Now, let me stress that hot girls get dudes sliding into their DMs constantly so you have to find a way to be original and catch her attention. I found that if I used their name within the first sentence and referenced something that I noticed, my success rate was much higher.

i'm currently trying to do this. have blasted DMs out lately and getting responses and some interest but nothing converting to a date or lay yet

I tried to slide into some DMs. I've either gotten no response or a few weak ass responses that amount to nothing.
I would much rather use tinder or bar game. I only DM a couple girls per month because it's so ineffective

Yea the effectiveness can be low. It does open up the possibility of getting girls that you didn’t match with though. Which is why I’m trying to perfect my approach to it. Almost got a date but it didn’t fall through

I'll try to get a date from a DM this year. Just as a personal challenge. I'll start shooting off a few DMs per week.
A girl once told me that any DM they ever respond to is when the guy is being "normal" such as asking them a question about one of their pictures to convey interest. Not sending a pick up line

very good, try to get a lay from a DM. in my opinion, it shouldn't be that hard, will just take more volume. i've noticed that most girls won't even read the DM. about 15% of the girls actually do. that information alone tells you the conversion is low. but if one were to blast out a hundred DMs a week, it's possible to squeeze out a few lays a month
