I started uni a month ago and I find that it’s easy to talk.. what I do is...

Introduce myself before lecture starts and ask what their name is, and ask about what course they study. (Then let the convo flow naturally).

End of the lecture if it ends afternoon I ask whoever I sit next to what they are up to and if they want to get a bite to eat, and if I want to make it clear that I want to be friends I exchange snapchat or Instagram
