I mean you kind of answered your own question. You were being really needy, so she ran. You definitely need to give her space if you want to have a chance to fix it. Buying her flowers and shit when you’re still in the dating stage as you said was the icing on the cake for her.

OK thanks for the reply. And yeah you're right but I don't think there's any fixing this one.. I'll have to chalk it up to experience: note to self.. 'don't break girls ribs'. I don't agree about flowers though. We'd been dating for a couple months, bitches love flowers.

Don't force a girl who is not willing to be your girlfriend into a relationship. Respect her wishes and enjoy the sex. When you find a girl who wants to be in a relationship, build a relationship with her and let the "party girl" go.

You’ve answered your own question in the first paragraph my man.
You both had different mindsets on what was happening, for starters, and it’s a safe bet to assume she knew you were going for more than she was.
Additionally, you turned up at her work and as you put it you were “emotional”, now I’m not sure how you behave when you’re emotional. Do you cry? Do you get heated and argue? Either way, something you did turned her off.
IMO, the best thing to do is genuinely apologize for breaking her rib, and turning up at her work unexpectedly, then move on.
In terms of why she’s acting like this, it’s been addressed in your explanation of you acting needy and emotional. Showing emotions is by no means a bad thing, but when someone isn’t interested in you, maybe pouring your heart out isn’t the best idea.
Flip the script: you’re banging this girl, you decide you don’t want to be banging this girl anymore, and she shows up at your workplace, calls and texts you endlessly for a week, etc. Most guys would chalk that up to a crazy girl.
