Embrace humor and illogicality more. Mating behavior is more instinct and intuition, not so much about Deep Thoughts.
You can convey to a woman that you are intelligent without actually engaging her in deep conversations. She will figure it out fairly quickly ... for the other 99% of your interaction she will want to know if you are fun, entertaining, humorous, sexy and emotionally stable.

Makes sense, now i feel like I’ve started to turn a bit up-tight. How can i change that to being back to funny and/or fun loving, i feel like this has just gone away suddenly

Try eye contact practice (look up the YT videos) then try to listen to people more and speak less. It actually tends to make you more relaxed and funny, the less you try to think of something clever to say. When you carefully listen to someone you learn more about them and the about the context of what they're talking about. Then you will make more connections, have more insight, and you will have something more interesting to reply. Often a simple nod or smile is enough.

Honestly, the best date-convo I ever had was incredibly awkward! We couldn’t stop talking about apple trees, splicing, picking, storing the apples and when we ran out of apple-related topics we just sat in silence a bit ... Then I admitted how awkward I felt, he agreed, and we decided to call one of my friends to ask for advice :D Everything doesn’t always have to be deep or heartfelt or intellectual. Sometimes being silly and honest and a bit vulnerable is just the right thing! We still talk, and laugh, about all the weird things we did, when we first met each other and it’s only brought us closer together - even after we went from dating to just being friends.
Obviously I can’t talk for other women, just thought I would contribute my own experience:)
