How do you guys get convos started initially when approaching a girl?

Can you talk to random strangers and just shoot the shit? What's the last chat you had with someone you didn't know?

If you can't small talk with anyone, trying to pull girls is calculus before counting.

Plot twist: the answer is the same regardless of what you want.

You have to approach without hesitation and make it sexual early on, otherwise you'll be seen as a timid guy who can't express what he wants.

None of these will help you during lockdown but here are a few of my successful approaches:

1) In London one September, near the river. It was a sunny day and I walked past a girl who gave me a couple second stare. She was hot with a camera, short denim shorts and she was much younger than me (she was 20, I was 35).

I can't even remember what I said but it was something like 'Hi, I'm James' and shook hands with her. I then said something like 'you look like a tourist', asked her about her camera and then said we should get a drink in the outdoor bar nearby.

The content of the conversation was irrelevant, it was all about the eye contact and the cheekiness. I bought her a beer but told her she had to buy the next one. She spent the next hour telling me her life story prompted by my questions, with me keeping it playful, teasing etc. I then moved venue to another bar nearby, by which time we were kissing and then she came back to my hotel room down the road, to "charge her phone". We had some fun that afternoon but no full sex. She was kissing me topless in my hotel bed around 1hr 30 mins after meeting me.

2) Similar place, A girl walked past me with headphones in but smiled so I turned and called her back, said something like 'you can't look at me like that without telling me your name'. Again, took her to a nearby bar, asked her about her life, teased her, we were making out within 30 mins, initiated by me but she was very keen. Was her last day in the country and she was staying far away so nothing else happened.

3) In another city, again made eye contact and just went over and introduced myself. She was on the way to a uni class so we arranged to meet at the same place in 2hrs. We did, got an ice cream, chatted about I can't remember what, and then within an hour we were actually f***ing in her city-centre apartment.
