There’s a lot that goes into developing your social skills or any skill for that matter. The one thing I says to everyone is this “Make a plan” It’s the easiest because you don’t actually have to go anywhere to write things down but here are a few other principles I’d like to share.

  1. Never lose momentum - It’s really hard to kill it Friday/Saturday with approaches if you don’t approach frequently enough before hand. That anxiety kicks in and instead of needing 30min to warm up it’s now a wasted Friday or a shit weekend with no results.

  2. Pace yourself - Just like above, pick 3-4 days/nights and do 10-15 approaches or whatever you feel is good enough to challenge but not completely exhaust you.

  3. Test everything - You want all the lines and openers and tricks and when they don’t work magic you cry about it not working. Test it in other places. You may find one thing works at a festival and one thing doesn’t work for you at all. Just doesn’t “resonate” with you. There’s so much material out there but you gotta follow steps 1-3 to see what works for you.

  4. 30min Rule - You get 30min to be upset about failure or lack or results. After that, stop bitching and get back to it. You’re a fucking machine! A culmination of thousands of years of evolution. You’re an unstoppable force! Fucking do it man!

It’s not rocket science. It’s not even Math. It’s a plan and repetition.
