I was on a date with a girl, before we started kissing she said "you have a dad bod", then I said with pure confidence "I have the hottest body on earth" because I was drunk and feeling confident. She laughed and then she let me kiss her.

Mild point: Perhaps you being drunk made your presentation hilarious, but usually, reacting by simply asserting the opposite argument, was not as effective as it would hav been if you had agreed and amplified what she said. Something like:

I have the daddest of bods. Leo DiCaprio read my book on body sculpting.

Basically, if they hit you with something, you agree with it confidently but in a really obnoxiously exaggerated way. This takes the wind out of their comment, shows confidence, shows you don't take yourself too seriously, etc.

I'm new to dating, so does this count as a test to my confidence or something?

Here's the thing. Shit tests are usually misunderstood here.

Most of the things people end up posting as "shit tests" on here, are really the guy's own insecure reaction at some girl who was trying to be playful. Usually guys are seeing manipulation and game playing when really it's their own problem. And so it was here. The girl was kissing you so clearly she didn't really care even if she thought you had a "dad bod." So you didn't need to prove a thing. The "test" was you versus yourself.

And while there are manipulative women out there, it's simply not worth the energy to re-calibrate yourself to fight fire with fire because then all you've done is win yourself more time with a manipulative person and then the games never stop.

Instead, conquer yourself and they don't have leverage on you in the first place.
