I don’t mean to be dramatic but maybe it’s a result of how what I am about to tell you has helped me be a more dramatic and animated person.
I have always had a hard time with not speaking loud enough and pronouncing words clearly. I have tried focusing on it in conversation but it just never felt natural, like it wasn’t me.
To get over this problem what I have started doing is listening to podcasts in my car and just repeating what I hear loudly, confidently, and correctly. Sometimes I experiment with my voice for what is appropriate. Like at what point am I yelling, how sentences change as I make different inflections, etc.
It’s cool if you listen to someone with a loud impressive voice like a Tony Robbins but not necessarily, just listen to something you like.
This has helped my game because it has really taken me out of my head. While I used to think something and say it softly without much confidence. now I say whatever is on my mind loudly right as it pops in there so it has a really natural feel to it and can tell the people around me are more responsive to it and care what I have to say.
Hope this idea helps anyone who struggles with the same problem.
