I went out Thursday night to meet a girl I've been hooking up with for a couple weeks and some of her friends. When I joined, the group became three guys and two girls. I made it pretty clear right away that the redhead was mine -- I kino'd her a lot, isolated her by having a private conversation at the table, etc... -- so that left the Korean girl for the other two guys -- another Korean and an American.

When the Korean girl went to the bathroom, I asked American if they were dating, and he said no, but everything about the way he acted telegraphed his attraction to her. We left the first bar and went to a place where we could dance a bit. They were giving out stickers for some band and people were playfully sticking each other with them. American sticks one on my back, so I just pull it off and ignore it. He puts on a second one on and I ignore it. He puts a third one on my back. He's got the biggest shit eating grin on his face. I just laughed at him and kept dancing with the redhead. He puts a fourth sticker on my back, and by this point, the back of my shirt is becoming noticeably stiff and uncomfortable, so I just turn around and ask redhead to take the stickers off.

Later, I overheard him talking to the Korean girl, and admitting that he'd gotten his first and only girlfriend when he was 24 years old. Then everything made a lot more sense. The whole sticker thing was his way of trying to impress the Korean girl with how "cool and funny" he was. The problem with this is that he was not demonstrating any higher value. True "alphas" don't need to lower the value of others by making them the butt of a joke just to raise their own value. This is not an attractive trait.

Eventually the three friends ended up ditching redhead and me while we were dancing on our own to go do their own thing, which I was completely fine with. I didn't really care to see any more displays of beta mating rituals between the two other guys as they competed for the Korean girl's attention. I went back to redhead's house and we banged it out. I'm sure both of those guys stayed out until the Korean girl decided she wanted to go home, then sheepishly said goodbye and nothing happened.
