I got tired of staying home at weekends and decided to plan to go out. Studying with my friend he decided to join me and bring his friend. We ended up deciding to go to an arcade center, I wanted to get used to talking to strangers and if there’s a girl there than I’ll try. It ended being kinda awkward for me because I was pretty much a third wheel that whole time and had no idea when to jump in the conversation and such. We lined up to take orders and my friend started talking to the cashier, he made good conversation with her and I noticed how it seemed more than just regular customer employee relationship. She was smiling and talked to him in general interest. When I went next it wasn’t really the same vibe, probably because I was awkward or in my head but it felt like regular customer employee conversation and there was no interest. Eventually a friendly guy walked up to us playing air hockey and I became friends with him. A tournament started up and there was an attractive girl playing, I never approached her because she was obviously busy playing. There was maybe another girl that I saw but I wasn’t interested enough to make a move. I say that but it’s probably because I feel awkward socializing, I wish I was able to feel comfortable while socializing because I honestly feel so fake just being quiet instead of approaching randoms and talking to them. It really sucks feeling this way, don’t know how I can start cold approaching when I feel awkward just socializing with people my age group normally.
