I've been trying the cold approach for the last weeks. Things are getting less awkward, I become more confident and it's easier for me to approach women.

There's a mall within 10 minutes walking distance and a little lake nearby. The sun was shining so I decided to go out and improve. I took my Kindle and my music with me and in the timespan of 3.5 hours I alternated between reading outside and working on my game.

I approached 15 women. Some of them were alone. Some of them were in a group of women. Some were standing and looking at things. Some where walking down the street. All in all it was pretty mixed up.

5 of them have a boyfriend. 4 aren't from here. 1 is married. 1 is engaged. 1 was deeply ashamed, blushed and 'ran' away. 1 was in a rush and brushed me off. 1 just simply told me no. That sums up to 14 and from one girl I've gotten my first number \o/

I expected it to be way worse. Almost half of them were super kind and thanked me for complimenting them. I like to think I made some of their days.

I only walk up to women who I find attractive, I tell them so and ask whether they want to meet up for drinks over the next days.

When I'm alone again, I reflect on every answer and try to improve next time. That includes things such as having more eye contact, speaking at a normal pace, speaking more confident, smirking more, etc. I write it down and try my best to apply it next time.

I'm far from perfect, I still miss a lot of women and I'm chickening out on some.

What helped me overcome my fears is to stick to one way of approaching. Get the foundation right. Tweak things step by step and don't be so hard on yourself. It's also best to just approach her. Still to this day, if I think for more than 5 seconds whether I should approach her or not in more than 80% of the cases I do not because I find some kind of excuse.

My progress might not seem as much, but given that 4 weeks ago after seeing an attractive girl I'd beat myself up emotionally for not talking to her, I like it.

One of my next obstacle that I want to solve is how to approach women that are walking next to me and I'm not 100% sure whether they are attractive or not.

Also, getting that reaction time down so I can approach attractive women that I'm seeing in my peripheral vision as they are walking by.
