Hey Seddit, had an interesting night, and more than anything I wanted some different view points as to what happened. Short story long, went to dinner and a bar with my roommates, not trying to meet anyone or trying to pick anyone up, but as roommates who enjoy food and beer. While at the restaurant, our cashier slipped her name, phone number, and a clarification of who she was into my food. That in it's own right was a first, but I didn't think much of it. As we're eating, I kept making eye contact with her and exchanging flirty smiles back and forth. We finished the food, thanked the girls behind the counter, and we left for the bar. I was racking my brain trying to think of answers to the usual "how soon do I text her," or ""was that meant for one of my roommates?" (Though the latter is unlikely, given the nature of the restaurant.) I ultimately decided to go with the gut instinct, and texted her about half an hour after we left and said "Hey, thanks for the food! What time are you off? Maybe we could grab desert and get to know eachother." Figured it was low effort, possible high reward. But maybe not, looking back at it. Either way, we had a couple beers at the bar, no response. Came home, and upwards of two hours later she simply responds with "Nope." Didn't respond, didn't deem it worthy of a response.

Guess the outlying question I have is, is this normal? Having never had this sort of situation happen before, I'm shooting in the dark. Like every other post on here, I've got a million questions, most of which are cliche and have been asked a million times on here. Any and all input on wtf just happened is more than welcome. TLDR: Cashier at restaurant slipped number into food, went with gut instinct and texted shortly thereafter. Was shut down with a simple "Nope" response to grabbing desert. Did I do something wrong, or was this just a fluky thing that happens?
