Before I get into this I have to say READ THIS BOOK. It is filled with so much valuable information and personally, I love the fact that it teaches you to fall back on your character and not routines when talking to girls.

A little context: I was really starting to get into pickup right as the pandemic hit and that pretty much put an end to everything. I did the typical theory load before actually approaching so revisiting the book this time around was more of a refresher than anything else.

So enter last night: A buddy and I went to a local bar and just about two minutes into being there I noticed a 3 set, all like 7's/8's that were clearly getting hit on from some older guys. I caught one of the girl's attention walking in and we locked eyes, I would NEVER hold eye contact in passing before and this time I held really well until she broke...first bit of sexual tension accomplished. After getting drinks about 20 feet away from them we came back and stood near them, the song changed to something they liked, and got really excited opening up themselves to us in the process, it was pretty clear they wanted to be opened. I stepped in and introduced myself to the group then talked to the girl I was interested in as my friend talked to the others. One of my favorite openers is guessing where they're from in a cold read sort of way, this can also act as a neg if she's so obviously from a place like California and you say she looks like an Ohio Girl...which is exactly what I did. After talking about that she asks where I'm from and I ask her to guess, just a way to make the ordinary questions more fun and boy does this open up conversations. Via the book, I asked about her passions and hobbies and jumped to a somewhat deep convo. Something I have ALWAYS struggled with is physical escalation so that was my focus in this set. I started by emphasizing my point with a light arm touch and as we continued talking put my hand on her lower back if we had to move out of the way for someone, which was very frequent. After talking for a while and the bar starting to slow down, I initiated a group Uber to a new bar. Really like this as the location change adds to the feeling that you've known each other for a while. At the new location, we were continually flirting and I was continuing the escalation. This time grabbing her belt loop to pull her in closer, getting "yes" signals every time. Fast forward about 30 minutes of generic convo, she gets up to go to the bathroom and I decide it's time to isolate. As she comes back I stand up and say "let's go for a walk" and she grabs me and leads me out. She isn't from the city we were in and I was, so it was on the premise of me giving her a tour. Holding hands we walk around for a while and as a natural break in the conversation happens I go in for the tried and true spin to kiss close. Fireworks. We walked around and made out every few blocks, escalating more each time. Eventually, we returned, and logistically a pull home didn't work so we exchanged numbers and called it there.

Overall I'm very happy with how this went, especially for the first night back in the game there really weren't many sticking points which is great.
