I'll start this by saying I'm a very outgoing person and that I'm always saying hi to people in public, but I've never tried to pick up women, only ever been in long term relationships, so this whole scene is very alien to me.

Tonight, after reading a bunch of stuff during the week, and watching some of Tyler's Foundations video, I went out with friends to a street packed with clubs. Went in, saw some girls, nothing that caught my eye (though I guess I shouldn't be picky at all and just try to meet new groups ATM). So I kind of just hovered around at the first place and did nothing.

The second place we went to, there was a lot of hovering again until we went on the dance floor and I got a brief dance in with a couple HB7s before they peaced out to who knows where. Wouldn't call that an approach.

My first and only approach for the night was a 3 set of girls since I was with two friends, and hearing it will probably make you cringe with the number of mistakes I made, but whatever, I'm new. I walked up and did my best to ask them over the deafening music if they wanted to dance. I approached them as two faced away from me, and one was facing me between them. She said something and I didn't hear because club music, and I touched her arm to get in closer, and she said they were all waiting for their boyfriends, then one girl gave me a smug bitchy smile. At which point, my zero hours of training kicked in, and despite knowing they were probably full of shit, I just turned around and left.

And that's my first night out. I'm not proud of the mediocrity, but I'm happy that I made at least one approach, and will reflect on it for all the ways to improve next time....which is probably a lot. This really confounds me because again I'm an extrovert and am generally very charismatic and open.

I'm sure there's probably some criticism (constructive or not) so fire away. Also what's the deal with trying to talk to girls that are too close to the speakers...can't hear or say shit.
